The blood receded from the queens face. Leaving her as pale as a corpse. She knew she would not live out the night. She came to grips with that reality as quickly as she could. She worked so hard to seek out the magician to pull the sword from the sky and now with it close to being hers, she will die without it.
Rage filled her , boiling in her gut sending thought’s of pure carnage to her mind. She will kill the king and his bastard bother. Leaving no one to claim the throne and the sword will remain there in the sky taunting all.
“So are you here to get the sword or to kill the king and I?”
“Watch your mouth woman. I will deal with you later?” The king said with clenched teeth
But there will be no later. She has decided that for her self and no mediocre king will decide her death for her.
“Well, if I grab the sword from the sky will that not delight you? No I will not pull the sword from the sky I will take your life. That will delight me.”
Ryan said smiling at her. He noticed that his brother was more ill at ease than she was. He could tell that she had made her peace with her life ending.
“Why not make this more enjoyable.” Ryan raised his hand causing the queen to float at the same level as the sword. He closed his eyes implanting the image of the sword being in arms reach. As she tried to reach for it . Little tears appeared in her skin.
It started off slowly, then the slits increased and the depths increased. Causing sever gashes, exposing the red meat under the skin. The Queen screamed from the pain yet she did not cease in her goal of reaching the sword.
Her blood began to flow more freely the deeper the wounds went. Coating his brother the king. He did not move. He sat on his horse and listened to his wife suffer a death he would never put on someone himself.
Her death was made from pure hate and he could not stop the tormented massacre of his queen.
An all to familiar a gargle from the soon to be departed queen sounded loud on a quiet field.
“Since you kill the queen you still want to kill me brother?”
“Of course. Father should have never given you the crown. You don’t care for nothing but your self. If you did not have your head in your royal ass, you would have known that she killed our brother.”
The king climbed down from his horse and walked up to Ryan smiling.
” As I recall brother you have depleted you power. You’ve killed my men in mass and you’ve just killed the queen.”
Ryan stood facing the king without showing any sign of fatigue.
“Come, now brother, we may not have lived in the same home but at time we did train together and you are showing signs that you are depleted.”
“That will not change the outcome brother. I will kill you.”
The king just smiled and placed a hand on his brother shoulder.
“Ryan your already dead.”
Ryan looked into his brother eye’s with confusion until he felt the numbness travel down is right side where his brothers had rested. He tried his best to hold on just a few more seconds, giving angelica enough time to spare.
“You’ve built up your resistance I see. But I feel your heart stuttering. Say hello to father when you see him.”
The king walked back to his horse as his brother fell to his knees. He gave the signal for angelica to get the sword and before he fell he could see Nester in white in the distance. He knew all will fall just the way it was supposed to be and he allowed himself to leave.
The king looked at the young man in the distance and had a faint recollection of who he was.
“Are you here to retrieve the sword?”
“No I am here to complete what your brother could not do. Kill you.”
The kings rage shown all over his face.
“How dare you, boy. Guards kill him now.”
The guards did not move as the king ordered. He walked over to the guard that was closest to him and seen that where the eyes were only stood empty holes. the other guards looked exactly the same.
“You will not kill me. I am your king.” He yelled as he with drew a sword from one of his men and charged Nester.
He swung the sword wildly with no particular target in sight. Nester let him swing as he gracefully moved away from every thrust and swipe.
Angelica completed the chant, which revealed what the other’s could not see. The bridge leading up to the sword. As Nester kept the king distracted, as she ran to the sword. She put two hands on the hilt and the earth trembled.
The king looked towards the sword and seen a young woman holding it. His new mission was to kill her and not worry about some peasant trying to make a name for himself by killing a king.
The king charged at the young woman, with his sword gripped tightly in the hand.
Angelica pointed the sword at the king and as if she always knew how to weld it. She slashed down ward across the kings torso as he charged forward, making him stagger back. The king refused to fall. He gripped his sword with both hands, raised it and brought it down ward attempting to take off her arm.
Angelica blocked his sword with hers and in a parallel angle swung her sword, slicing through the muscle, tendon, ligaments, and throat, but did not fully decapitate him.
Blood spurted and oozed down his front.
Angelica walked up to the king and said, “That was for my father, Uncle.”
The realization of who she was he took with him to the after life as he dropped on the invisible bridge, coating it with his blood.
As Nester and Angelica walked to the boarder of the palace. There was heaviness that weighed on them. The loss of Ryan was hitting theme both but anglica more loss was ahead.
“I have to leave you now, Angelica.”
“I know. Will you come and see me?”
“This is not the end for us. It is just a parting of ways for now. You will seek me out when you are ready.”
“Why seek you out. Your right here. Just stay.”
“You are not ready.”
Nester walked up to Angelica and kissed her gently on the lips. Her innocence showed right through. She was not ready and Nester will wait.
“How will I find you?”
“You’ll always know where I will be. Bye angel.”
Nester slowly disappated into air. Leaving Angelica alone to claime her throne.
