I had one drink.
Maybe it was four.
You pulled up a chair.
I heard it scrape against the floor.
I didn’t want to look.
But who was I to withstand?
The scent of masculine cologne.
The strength in those hands.
I finally looked.
But I could not see.
The eyes I knew.
That was undressing me.
“Good evening,” he said.
With timber so deep.
I shamelessly squirmed.
On this hard bar seat.
“Hi” I said.
Oh, did that come from me?
Not tonight girl.
You had a drink.
Okay you had three.
“I like the hat.”
It’s sleek and dark.
He chuckled at that.
It hit the mark.
“Can I get you some water?”
Who is this man?
He could have taken advantage.
I can’t even stand.
“This could be your night.
I had a few you see.”
He shook his head no
Who could this be?
“Oh, it will be my night.
With you, but not like this.
I want you to remember me.
And not some Hangover kiss.”
I took that water.
In one large swallow.
In greed
“Take a couple more.
I’ll give you what you need.”
He kept his word that night.
I never saw him again.
The moon was so bright.
There was more to this man.
He left me one thing.
Why I do not know.
That damn Stetson hat.
It makes me glow.
