The day was never kind to the dead and it will never be. Makalo fought against his infernal desire to sleep waiting for news about Adorjan.
The messenger had arrived with his normal over the top flare of smoke and glowing eyes. That would normally make Makalo laugh but not this day.
“Lewin what’s the information on Adorjan?”
Lewin could tell Makalo was not very pleased with his entrance and he would normally do something else to get a smile out of him but his aura deterred that thought.
“My prince, Adorjan has made it to the city and we have lost sight of him once he entered that witch home.”
“You mean he’s at Amorisa?”
“Hopefully he will get himself out of there.”
“Would you like fo us to assist?”
“No, that witch is more powerful than she may look. I can not assist him. With every trial, he encounters it will strengthen him.”
“As you wish.”
“Lewin keep your eye on him.”
“Yes, my prince.”
“After I wake tonight I will be taking a little trip to the island. No one must know where I have gone. Find me there in two day’s time and give me a report on his progress.”
“You have faith that he will get out of the witches lair?”
“Good day Lewin, now be off and before you leave to destroy the two males that watched you come into my room.”
Lewin had a look on his face that showed he did not see anyone watching him.
“One was hidden behind the stable entrance and the second was carrying the linen to Abella room.”
“At once. Good day.”
Makalo hoped he will get free from Amorisa
Adorjan could not sleep in the strange house. For some reason, something was urging him to leave.
“Adorjan leave. Do not trust Amorisa.” A soft voice said. He abruptly rose off the bed and grabbed his satchel. He opened the door and made his way back down towards the entrance.
“So I will finally get that precious blood, jorra.” She said but to who?
Adorjan peeked around the corner and seen a little Persian cat curled up on the arm of a chair. The cat notices him looking and it signaled Celestie that she was being spied on.
“So, Adorjan I guess you were not that tired at all. Would you like to have something to eat?”
“What do you want with my blood?”
Amorisa stood up and jorra her cat jumped down and walked over to her spot at the window.
“What did you hear?”
“You want my blood and I want to know now why?”
“Why do you think? You are a child of a vampire and a gypsy. Your blood is powerful and I mean to have allot of it.”
“You mean to drain me?” Adorjan said staring at her.
“Adorjan why don’t we come inside and we can discuss this.”
Adorjan went straight to the door and it was locked. “Open the door Amorisa.” He said through clenched teeth.
“Why would I do that?” She kept moving closer and Adorjan kept her in his sight.
“I will say it one more time. Open the door.”
“Or what? You have been living with your mother and my sister in the woods all your life. You think you’re a threat to me?”
Adorjan went back to the door and he focused on the door nob. He tried to remember what his yaya had taught him. He could hear Amorisa move closer to him and time was running out.
“What are you trying to do?” She said through a laugh. “No one can get out of my spell.”
One more second and he heard the click. Amorisa stopped when she saw the door open.
Adorjan gabbed his bag and ran out of the house and looked at her from the other side of the gate.
Amorisa tried to go after Adorjan but once she stepped out from the house she screamed.
“What deal did you make? You sold your life away and you were willing to drain me for what?”
Amorisa turned and slammed the door behind her. Adorjan did not think he wouldn’t have someplace to stay. He made his way back to the dock and luck had it that the twins boat was still there. Now the catch was to figure out where they were.
Adorjan decided just to wait for them on the boat. He found a stop where he placed his satchel down so he could rest his head. He never slept heavy so someone thinking that they could creep up on him will be surprised.
He looked up at the sky and thought of his mother and his yaya. Their teachings saved his life. He never thought he would have to worry about his own family trying to kill him.
As he bagan to doze off a bird flew off towards the moon. “Odd. I would never guess that black birds flew so far across the sea.”
The bird flew to its mistress to inform her of what the abomination was up to. Abella recovered from the atrocities that was inflicted on her by the ancient.
She was seething from her anger towards how Makalo. The way he acted as if she caused this on her self. She did not have a child with a human or another vampire, he did.
“Mother, I need to speak to you.”
Abella’s bedroom door was swung opened wide as a young woman with deep, crimson hair that cascade down her exposed shoulders. A set of perfect bowed lips painted as if she used paint lacquer on them. The shine from it drew attention. But nothing could take away from her eye’s. There was no denying that she was the daughter of Makalo.
“What is it?”
“I want to go to the village tonight. Niece told me that unless you give the ok I can not go.”
“That is correct.”
“Really mother?” She said sarcastically
“I am a pure blood. I am stronger that a horse, let alone a mortal. I want a sip of fresh blood. We have not gone out in ages and I crave it.”
Abella knew how strong she was and that frightened her. Everyone dare not tell her that she killed her true mother or face the rath of the prince. She came to love her as if she had her, herself.
“We shall go tomorrow night. I want to take you some place special. Can you wait until then?”
“Special?” Her eyes showed her brain mulling things over. “Okay I can wait another night.”
“Until then have you decided who you want to mate?”
“Not this again. I am to young and I am just enjoying being. I don’t want to be ruled over. I am going to the gardens. I will see you tomorrow then mother.”
She leaned over and she could smell that niece rubbed roses through her hair as she gave her a kiss on the cheek. As she turned to leave the black bird flew through the window. The young vampire was not surprised to see the bird. She thought that was her mother’s weakness. Her dependency on those beasts. She stormed off the same way as she walked in. In a storm
” Now tell me what you know.” Abella commanded the bird.
So Adorjan narrowly missed getting killed. The red-head is holding to her nature and Abella is not letting up. If you like please star it and comment. Until next time. Fia xoxox
