Beast in a Red Dress pt 6 (Team?)

Angel

Seventeen sucks. The best thing about this is my fake birthday is in two days. That gives me something to play with.

I got up a little early and did some intense yoga. My limbs needed to be stretched out. Normally I had other ways of being stretched but I am seventeen.

After yoga I did my routine quickly.  Grabbed my duffle bag and my satchel and went downstairs to the kitchen. Marcus was up and dressed in a suit that complimented his build and caused a few thoughts to run across my mind.

I went to the frig and grabbed a bottle of orange juice and an apple.

“Angel have a seat.” He commanded. That tone was riling me up but I will let it go.

I went and sat down at the circular table and waited.

“I will be at school today. They are going to walk me around to get a feel of it. When you see me I want you to behave respectfully. Act like we are family and not this moody brat that you have been giving us.”

I suppressed a smile because I was better at acting seventeen then I thought.

“That is another thing. This attitude has to stop we are a team and have to act like a cohesive unit.”

“So, you want me to act like we are family twenty-four seven.” I said sarcastically.

“You see that right there.” He said leaning in. “If you were my niece, I would slap your ass till you realize that I am not someone to play with.”

I leaned in and whispered, “So I have to be blood for you to do that?”

That statement caught him off guard and that was what I wanted. I stood up as he straightened himself in his seat and drank his coffee. I grabbed my stuff and went over to him and kissed his cheek.

“Have a good day uncle.” I said and walked out to meet Tyler.

Tyler

What just happened that put a smile on Angel’s face. It’s a nice smile but then she saw me looking at her.

“Can we stop off for coffee?”

“You know caffeine is not really good for you.” I said as I took her bags.

“There are allot if things that are not good for me, but I do it anyway.” She remarked.

What did she mean by that. Is it this mission? Is this not the first time she was used as bait?

When we were on the road. I tried to see if she will divulge anything about herself.

“Well, I know Marcs talked to you about being a team. I thought maybe if I tell you something about myself then you can do the same.”

She looked at me with a look of what is up?’ written all over her face.

“I lived in Louisiana for a time and a woman who I thought was very hot tried to hex me and cause my dick to fall off.”

Angel looked shocked then laughed.

“Yeah, its funny now but if it was happening to you, you would rethink your life choices.’

“So, I guess it’s my turn. Well let’s see. Once I was accused of being involved with my English teacher. It was totally a lie. My friend at the time borrowed my clothes and snuck out to meet up with him.”

I smiled at that “My Friend” usage. It was her. “What happened?”

“Let’s just say, there was a shot gun wedding, and I am the god mother to their little Anna.”

I glanced in the mirror, and she smiled at the story. She was not making it up. It was not her. I turned into the coffee spot we went to and the woman that was there remembered me.

“Hey, you never came back.”

“I’m here now.” I said giving her my order and smiled.

“Well, when you get time off. Come see me.” She handed me the cup and hit had her number on mine.

I smiled nodded and pulled away.

“Why didn’t you go back yesterday?”

“If you must know. She is too giving.”

“Hugh?”

“Too giving. Too willing to give me her number, her time, her body. Who else did she give it too.”

“Oh” she said and drank her coffee.

We pulled into the school parking lot, and I went to open her door to let her out.

“Thanks” she said with a smile and went off to track.

Angel

The both of them are trying to figure who I am. I have to give them something to get off of me.

Track was the usual warm up and I talked to Jen most of the time. Then we had to do the One-on-one races. Somehow, I was matched up with Lennette Ward.

Once everyone had there run it was our turn. She could not wait to start to intimidate me.

“Yesterday was a fluke. There is no way you could beat me and you were warned.” She said bending over to stretch.

I sighed and knew she was going to feel this to her core.

“On your mark, get set. Go!”

The snap of the gun went off and I saw flames. I wanted to leave her in a trail of dust that she could choke on. After the first turn we were matched until I unleashed what I held back. The gap began to get wide and when we were on the second turn, I increased my speed that I knew everyone stood there with their mouths open.

I crossed the finish line first with her coming after. She went straight to me.

“Who are you? Your too fast to be here.” Her eyes glowing heated rage or was that something else.

“Does it matter how I took you. I just did.” I said gaging her reaction. Then there it was.

Her breath caught and a glance to my mouth.

“Go away second.” I said it low enough that I knew she heard but no one else. There it was the tear with anger falling.

I went to get my things and I see Marcus with an older man in the stands looking at me. I smiled and waved. He nodded and continued his conversation, but the other man looked upset.

“Angel you shouldn’t have done that.”

“Why?”

She looked passed me and her brother was talking to her to keep her calm.

“He is very protective of his sister.” She looked concerned. “He is on his way over here she whispered.”

“Hey Jen, are you coming over to the house this weekend?” He asked.

“Yeah.”

“Why don’t you bring Angel over. I think she would like to learn the history of our family firsthand.”

“She might be-” I cut her off and said, “I would love to. What time should I be there?”

“At one.” He said and walked away.

“Why did you say yes?”

“Why not?” I said with a smile.

Home

The drive home was quiet. I guess they wanted to chastise me at the same time.

Marcus waited for me in the living room. I put my things down and sat and waited.

“I thought I told you not to do that. But you did it anyway.” Marcus said in controlled anger.

“We are supposed to work as a team, but you are not following what we need you to do.” Tyler said leaning against the wall.

“You told me when I got her, I was supposed to get information. You both wanted information. Well, I will get the information you need by getting close to these two.”

“How are you getting close? They look like they want to kill you.”

“This weekend I was invited to their home so Joshua Ward can give me a history lesson on their family.”

They looked at me more intense.

“He is going to hurt you. Don’t you care about that?” Tyler asked.

“Look I know what I am doing with these two.”

“Then enlighten us.” Marcus said a little louder than needed.

“Lennette is into me. She loved it when I beat her in the race, but she is unsure on how to play this out. Joshua is a bully and wants me to be afraid. He likes it when I am afraid. I am never afraid.”

I looked at both of them.

“You will get information this weekend. Now if you want to continue the act of being a team up fine. But I am the only one who is left out of these meetings you two have over me. Some team.”

I stood up and grabbed my bags. I stopped next to Marcus’s chair and said.

“Did that deserve a swat?”

Then I continued to my room.

Marcus

“Tyler who is this girl?”

He walked over to sit on the seat where she sat and looked at me.

“Marcus I don’t know. But what I do know is she likes to push buttons. Let her. She said she will get information then let her do it.”

Just remembering her standing by me with her ass inches away made me respond in a way that I need to control.

“Did you get anything with the head of the school?” Tyler asked.

“Nope. He kept talking about taking a vacation on some island. He was musing a lot about remembering on how it was to be young. Then we see Angel kick his granddaughter ass in a race. Well, the conversation stopped there.”

Tyler leaned in and whispered. “Did you catch what she said. That the girl is attracted to her. Do you think she is-”

“I don’t know and don’t care. But I don’t like the brother. We have to keep an eye on him.” I said giving Tyler a look that spoke more than words.

(What is going on? There is a lot of hormones in the air. Very interesting. Please give a like and let me know what you think. Fia xoxox)
