Desert (Poem)

If I could paint upon your skin

I would paint you with whipped cream.

Sweet sugary delight

Contrasted with natural salt

If I could add to the texture I love

It would be drizzled with chocolate.

Dark and decadent

Whispering carnal secrets

If I can top it all

With a strawberry

Or fruit

The essence

Bursting down my throat

Would be my undoing.

      1. Seems like we’re posting on the same schedule today. Total strangers toying with temptation in uncoordinated volleys of imagination. That’s surely an overstatement of what’s nothing more than coincidence but it’s fun nonetheless.

      2. Fun you say.
        I say destiny.
        heated words
        take control of me.
        Since your time
        Meet mine
        temptations intertwined.
Let’s just see how this goes.
Where it stops no one knows.

      3. Destiny carries me out of my space and time to touch yours with mine till what’s mine and yours no longer means a thing. Yes, let’s see, let’s write, let’s be, taut and tempted, devouring desire itself one word, one line at a time.

I feel your fantasies dripping over me; those visions you taste at the back of your throat are mine.

      4. You’re claiming what’s yours.
        But who’s to say.
        Everyone is seeing this.
        By the way.
I think I will claim you instead
        take you in my dreams.
        to my bed.
(It’s been a long time since someone wanted to verbally challenge me. Love it.)
