Eternal Blaze{TCOTD(13)}

The trial was being held in the room of  eternal blaze. The monastery theme room, with hundred feet high ceilings. Three thick columns that held candlesticks that if the wax fell on your skin it will melt to the bone. In the center of the room where the guilty stood was an indoor mote. The liquid fire surround the tempered dragon hide brick was over 2,200f degrees .(1,200c). Once the accused is in the center, a shield of cool nitrogen is released until found guilty.

The jury consist of the nine fire holders. These nine will listen to the  issue and decide if it is worth consideration to let live or to burn as Makalo has deem fit. It was smart of Mimi to ask for a trial.

“Mmm, the smell of smoke. I do love a trial.” Abella said as she sat in the seat that over looked the jurors and Mimi.

“We the nine do not abide by human law. You will begin to talk and if by chance you are innocent of what you are being accused of, you will be set free. If you are guilty you will burn.”

Mimi stood before them and showed no fear. Fear show proof of guilt and they love to watch a person burn alive.

“Speak.”

“I have been accused of conspiring behind Abella’s back. I have not. I have proof of where I have been on the day I am being accused of.”

“Show proof.” One of the nine that sat to the right of Mimi said.

Cleo walked inside and stood outside the circle of fire.

“Speak”

“Mimi and I spent the day together.”

“Sleeping? When one is asleep, one can leave and then return, before one is wake.” The center of the nine asked.

“We did not sleep the whole day.”

“But you did sleep.”

“Yes, it was about noon.” Cleo said with a smile and a quick glance towards Mimi.

“So she is guilty then.”

“No.” Cleo yelled then was removed.

“You were accused of conspiring behind Abella. She did not specify the time of day it had occurred and by this courts account you have no witness that proves that you stayed slumbering in the witness room.”

Mimi looked towards Abella with hatred. She knew that she set this up.

“You follow a devious creature. Makalo is our ruler, not that.” She pointed at Abella.

Slowly the nitrogen began to shut off and the clothing Mimi wore began to set a blaze. Mimi looked at every one of the nine’s deviant faces and etched them to memory. If she survived she will skin their faces of their dead skulls and pin it to her bed room wall.

The center circle became smaller, allowing the liquid to etch closer.

“You will die Abella.”

She laughed,” If I do you will never see it happen.”

Mimi felt and smelled her hair set a blaze. She did not mind dieing. She was already dead. She just wanted to see that bitch die first. Layer after layer her skin burned. Letting the room smell of her charred flesh. She will not scream. She will not give her an ounce of pleasure seeing her in pain.

Abella watched like an expectant buzzard waiting for the animal to drop to feast on it’s dead carcass.

As Mimi was about to fall on the ground from blacking out. She felt her body being carried off.

“Abella you have gone too far.” Makalo yelled.

The nine rose and was bout to retreat until Makalo looked at them. Making them immobile.

“She was convicted by the nine. By your law she must be burned.”

Makalo looked at the nine and only one looked as if he had remorse. He turned with Mimi in his arms and walked to her chambers.

“You made it.” She whispered and fainted. The burns are deep and she will need blood and to sleep the eternal sleep for a year. Makalo made arrangements for Mimi to be taken away after receiving blood and hidden until she is fully healed.

Makala had to teach Abella what a real punishment by his hand consist of.

Creya woke up with a slight buzzing in her head. It had to be all that drinking the night before. She tried not to remember what had transpired between them.

Did you know lips flush with color when aroused? He whispered to her.

She should have punched him. Why didn’t she? He was getting back at her for making him eat that cookie.

She decided to shake it off. She decided if he needed for her to apologize again. He was out of luck. He went into the bathroom down the hall to take a quick shower. It was down the hall from her room. Before going to take a much needed shower, she decided to knock on the door to see how if Adorjan was up?

He answered the door wearing only pants. his hair was a mess and he definately was not ready to get up for the day.

“What?”

“Are you gonna get up. We have to find Ukr.”

“I will be up in another couple of hours.”

“Do you normally sleep at dawn?”

“No I don’t normally sleep this long but then again I never had blood before either. Couple of hours, ok?”

“Fine, I’ll knock on the door.”

Adorjan closed the door and she could hear him fall on the bed.

She walked down the hall and tried to keep her mind on the mission. “That’s it creya stay focus. He’s a dhampir. We have to protect and follow your own path.” She told herself as she turned the shower on.

Stepping under the warm spray she focused on the mission. As hard as she tried her thoughts wondered to Adorjan. She turned the water to cold to keep her focused. It helped.

She gotten dressed and took a walk around to see what was going on.

“Miss you need to wake the dahampir and leave.”

She looked towards a dirty cracked window and walked towards it.

“What?”

“No time. Leave they will kill you both.”

The voice stopped and it seemed as if it’s owner had fled. She went back to the boarding place right in time to see three men enter the front door and three men enter the back.

“Shit!” she whispered.

I hope all of you are enjoying the story. Until next time let me hear from you and like it.

Lips Lie? {The call of the Dhampir(12)}

Every night Abella rises and renews the promise to herself to get rid of Makalo’s abomination. Every night that promise comes closer to fruition.

Abella knew that she was living on borrowed time. She seen the hatred grow more and more in Makalo’s eyes. She hears the whispers from the others about his conquests. Yet he would not touch her. Only that once to consummate the mating.

Abella tried her best over the years to show remorse about her sister’s death and to prove to him how deep her love was. Makalo did not once listen. He did not once shown compation. What he gave was indifference, infidelity and loneliness.

He created a prison with no bars. She could not seek forfillment with another or else she will be put to death. What she allowed with the ancient was torment in it’s most primal form. When he heard of her demise did he shown an ounce of care. No he threatened to kill her if she go outside the mating again. It was his right to do so.

All the same she rose and looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. She will kill Adorjan and she will do it in front of his father and the rest. They will see she is a true mate to Makalo. A pure mate that will give him offspring if he only tried.

“Abella I have located Mimi.”

“Were was she?”

“She was in Cleos’ chambers.”

“Was she there all night?”

“I can not say. I too was asleep when the dawn came.”

“What about our servants. Can they vouch to where she has been.”

“Yes Marisa the maid said that she seen when she went into her chamber at the dawn.”

“At dawn.”

“Yes”

“Bring her to me at once.”

“Yes Abella.”

“Mimi you naughty child. Where have you been lately?” She asked as she smiled at herself in the mirror.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Creya walked beside Adorjan without saying a word. He was still brooding from eating the cookie. They stopped for the night to rest in the following town.

The lodging were known to housed their kind without asking questions. Before they went to their rooms she had to breatk this silence.

“Look Jan I am sorry. I did not think this would affect you this badly”

“Why because of who my father is? Well I was raised by my mother and grandmother you seem to forget.”

“okay I get it.”

“No you haven’t got it. You took something away from me that was my right to—“

“To what?”

Adorjan stormed off into his room and slammed the door. Creya felt worse. At least with silence you do not deal with emotions. That was something she was never good at.

She asked the owner of the place if he had a bottle of house wine. Of course he did and charged accordingly. Creya went to her room and drank half the bottle down before having enough courage to confront adorjan again.

She went to his door and banged on it. Adorjan opened it. He looked slightly wet. His hair looked as if it was washed and she smelled honey suckle. she needed to keep her head clear. She pushed him out of the and stood in the middle of the room.

“Look Jan I do not apologize more than once. But here I am apologizing again. I am sorry I gave you my blood.”

Adorjan could tell she was a bit drunk. Her words were not slurred but her posture was relaxed, not so guarded. Her ears were slightly pink and so were her cheeks.

“I accept. Now leave please.”

“Not until you finish what you were about to say down there.”

He stood there debating if he should.

“No you said I took away your right. Your right to what?”

He moved closer to her. “I am not fully human. I am not fully vampire.”

“Tell me something I don’t know.”

He looked at her with an annoyed face.

“Again I am sorry. Wow that’s three times. I’m on a roll with you.”

“It is my right to have my first bite when I decide to – -“

“Oh not that to again. To what? Sleep with someone?” Creya laughed. “You can not be that pure looking the way you do.”

Adorjan went to his bag and pull out a shirt.

“You are, aren’t you?”

“It’s not something we should discuss. I’m sure that you have experience as well.”

“Why are you so sure about that?”

Adorjan stood and walked close to her. He could smell the wine on her breath. He moved as close as was possible. He felt her breath on his skin. He watched as her lips tinted the color of her ears.

He swallowed the minute moisture that was left in his mouth. He slowly leaned down and he heard her heart racing. Her pupils dialated. She looked afraid.

“See I am aware that women do not respond like you when they have been with other’s. Did you know that lips flush with color when aroused? There is four to five layers of skin that betrays you.” He whispered close to her mouth.

Creya pushed him away and realized that he knew. She need to leave.

“Am I right, Creya?”

“Lips Lie all the time.” She said as she walked out of his room.

“Not this time.” He said knowing that she heard him.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Mimi was escorted to Abella chambers. She sat near the window looking out.

“So my dear I have not seen you for a while. Why is that?”

“I was away. Did you miss me Abella?” She said sarcastically

“I really do not have time for this. You know you will be dust shortly.”

“Oh really. If you kill me My father will ask for your head. Everyone know about you Abella. I am not in your care but in Makalo. “

“Do I care? You are the spy. I figured it out.”

“You were never that far away from me. Lurking in the shadows. It just occurred to me that you are the only one capable of doing that very thing.”

Mimi knew she had only one chance. It was a bold move but she will have to try.

“If I did as you say. Let the fire judge me.”

“You would stand in front of the fire?”

“Yes.”

Abella laughed. “The fire will comprise of my choosing. You will be ash.”

“I will take the ruling of the fire.”

“Fine you will meat the fire. Tomorrow at sunset.”

Mimi turned and left. She prayed that Makalo will return soon.

My fire starters we are entereing dangerous times. If you like please comment and hit like. Until next time Fia xoxo

Dead Blood {The call of the Dhamphir(11)}

Makalo rose from the bed which he currently was sharing with Kara. Normally he would wait until she rose before leaving her presenses. But there was something off in the house.

Why was she here? No one knew of his travels. Where was Sheri? Whispers seemed to be following him down the hallway. It was being illuminated by modern light. Yet the light still casts shadows every step he took.

The whispers became clearer.

“Sheri when are you going to tell your guest of the current situation.”

“Mitchel do not rush me. Once he awakens I will find a way to tell him.”

“You have given him false hope all these centuries. Why Sheri?”

“Hope is never false. Any way the truth will be told so.”

Makalo swept into to the room to see Sheri sitting across the large dining room table with a gentlemen he had never met before.

“Makalo you have awaken. I see Kara prowess had not worn you out.”

“What is it that I need to know?”

“He sure get’s to the point, doesn’t he Sheri?” the gentlemen said as he lift his glass to lips to drink.

“Sit Makalo and have a drink with us. I have fifty year old Irish blend. A bit innocent and a bit naughty.”

“How did you get that particular blend to last without it congealing?”

“Oh I can not tell my secrets can I?” she said as took another sip.

Makalo waited until the servant finished pouring his drink and took a sip. Then politly sit the contents in a hankerchief.it. Something was definatly off here. No vampire can drink aged blood and not get ill.

“Now down to business.” The gentlemen said as he rose with his glass in hand.

His smell was off, his skin slightly off and his speech held an accent that he could not place yet.

“Yes what is it that you want to inform me Sheri.”

“That you are not to come here any longer. I was informed by your father that you are going against the pure vampiric society. You are lucky you are alive Makalo. Why don’t you give up what ever plan you have devised?”

Makalo pushed the glass away. This was not Sheri. She did not care of the purity of vampires. She would love it to be watered down as much as possible.

“Who are you?”

“I told you who I am didn’t I? If I didn’t sorry. My name is Mitchel Pavillio.” He said then bowed.

“Pavillo. The necromancer. You gave us blood from the dead.”

“On the contrary when I raise them, I give them that spark of life and the blood losens a bit and I catch it right at that perfect moment.”

“There is no perfect moment. That is why Sheri is acting as if she has lost her mind. Her brain is probably filled with maggots as we speak.”

“Makalo I am in my right mind.”

“No you are not. You are under his control.” Makalo rose from his seat and walked towards Mitchel. The color in his eyes were gone. Dark and anger filled them.”

“Stay back. I will end Sheri’s immortal life in an instant and your Kara as well.”

“What is it that you want?”

“Kill your son. Rid us of this bliath on the pure name of vampire.”

“Why do you care of our pure name? Your a bliath as well. Who hired you?”

Mitchel did not answere but snarled a bit at the insult.

“Careful Makalo. I will end them. Then end you.”

Makalo realized that he really thought he drank that filth. He made it to his advantage.

“I can not kill my son. I created him.” He said almost in a whisper.

“Yes you did now you must end him.”

Makalo sat in the chair with his head hung low. He heard when Mitchell stepped away from Sheri. He stood up and was be hind him before he realized that he even moved. Once the realization hit his neck was snapped and his body hit the floor.

Makalo went to sheri and looked into her eyes. She was being eaten alive by those awful things. There was only one way to get them out and he hated to do that to his dear friend and ally.

He lifted her up and walked to the lounge chair. There by the fire place were long stick matches. He struck two and immediately pushed them up her nose. Then another two and stuck them in her ears.

Little white maggots began to flee from her body. Through her mouth and eyes. When he pulled the matches out they escaped from there as well. He continued to do this until her body was purged from those insects.

Once done he took her to her room for her to rest. She will be ravenous when she wakes. His job was not complete. He had to attend to Kara. That was going to prove difficult since he had developed feelings for her.

He pushed himself to do what must be done. That night was filled with screams and anger. Too bad he could not rise again so he could kill Mitchell Pavilloall over again.

Adorjan dressed quickly and grabbed his bags. Creya was waiting for him dowm stairs.

“Stay away from me Creya. I will do this on my own.”

“That is good to hear. Then I will just be around to make sure that you do.”

It bothered him that he could not trust her. He never felt as alone as when he lost the only person he could someday consider a friend. Now he just wanted to be away from her and Ina.

“Jan let her follow part of the way. If you can a reason for her to return she will. Until then just humor us.”

“I should not do anything you ask.”

“True but you will.” Ina turned her back to them and returned to making some weird orange blue concoction.

They left and once the door closed, Adojan slammed Creya against the door. You try anything like that again. your blood will not be the only first I will ever have done. I will kill you.”

Adorjan meant every word he said and for the first time Creya got a glimpse of the killer he could be and she was afraid.

I hope you all are enjoying the story. Comments and likes are appreciated and tell a friend. Until next time. Fia xoxox

What truths dreams can Reveal?{The call of the Dhampir(10)}

Breathing goes on without conscious thought. When you start noticing your breathing and it becomes difficult to recall how to inhale. That is definately a bad sign.

The darkness was beginning to lighten up as he walked towards the object. No sound. His foot his the hard cold surface and no sound was produced. There was an object that he has seen before. But the lack of oxygen was hindering his recall. The closer he walked towards it the more it came into view.

Yes, he remembers. The floating glass. He stood before it and just looked at it wondering how was it possible that it was levitating.

“Drink”

That voice. He knew that voice.

“Who’s there? Come forward so I can see you.”

“Drink”

“This is an omen. I will not invite something to posses me.”

“No harm. Drink”

The more he refused the harder it became to breath.

“Would you rather die then drink? Drink and know the truth”

The crushing grip and the lack of oxygen was inflicting on his chest was causing little black spots to appear before him.

“Adorjan, drink.”

That voice he recognized. It was his mother. She would never want harm to befall him. He grabbed the glass and no liquid splashed out. What was inside looked a bit gelatinous.

“Drink!”

Now he recognized the first voice. It was his yaya. He swallowed the liquid down and choked on it. Suddenly it was easier to breath. The room lightened and the two most important people in the world to him stood before him.

As he was about to approach his mother, she held her hand up to stop him.

“Adorjan do not come closer. We are not in physical form and we have but a short time to tell you something. Something that we could not bring our selves to tell you when we were alive.”

“What?”

“I’ll tell him. You heart is going to die. You will be no more.”

“WHAT!”

“Grandmother please. You were born from light and darkness. By all rights you should not exist but you do. You were born into a path that was predestine. You must go find the Ukr. He will give you the crimson light. When you receive the light, you will know then and only then what you must do.”

“Die?”

“You will have help on this path. They will find you but be careful. As much as they may mean no harm. Harm will befall you.”

“Mother why?”

“We must go. I am so sorry. I should have prepared you better for this.” She said as the translucent tear trickled down her face.

“Adorjan you are strong. Follow the path, follow the crimson light and enjoy life.” His grand mother said as she wrapped an are around his mother.

“Yaya why?”

“We must go.” His mother whispered.

His heart was beating in his head as he began to fade from one existence into another. The sun hung lower than before. It was midday and he still lied there in bed. He rose to his feet and went in search for Creya.

Ina and Creya were in the kitchen as usual. Ina up to her arms in some kind of gewy concoction and Creya was with that wicked knife sharpening it against a stone.

“What did you give me?”

“Adorjan calm down. What did your dream reveal to you?”

“Why would I tell you anything?”

He turned around and was about to leave when Ina he heard, “Stop!”

“Now you will stay and listen.” Ina stopped doing what ever it was she was doing and went to the sink to wash her hands. Adorjan stayed but he did not sit.

“You were supposed to be told what your path was by your mother or grandmother. Since they did not do so we helped with out telling you verbally our selves.”

“Why couldn’t you tell me instead? I do not understand.”

“I can help you on your way with out telling you what you must do. That is against the rules the universe has placed upon me.”

“You too Creya?”

“I can not tell you verbally either, but I help unlock the message with in you.”

“By drugging me.”

“I gave you a blood cookie. It made you sleep deeply to find out the answer.”

“You feed me blood.”

“Yes. Don’t be surprised dhampir. You’ve had blood before.” Creya said with a smile. The shocked look on his face showed a different answer.

“Oh no. You have never tasted blood. How could this be? You are half vampire.” Creya asked amazed at the news.

“I never craved blood. So my mother and yaya thought that my human half must be strong and never encouraged me to taste it.”

“Odd. Before we go any further. Did you learn anything?”

“I must find Okra.”

“Okra?” Creya asked

“No he must find Ukr. I will point you in his direction and that is all I can do.”

“That is fine with me. I am leaving.”

“I will go with you.”

“You are not going with me. I do not trust you.”

“Good. Don’t trust me, but I am still going with you.”

“Jan, no point in arguing about it. How do you feel?”

“Annoyed and ready to leave.” With that being said he stormed off to get his things.

“Creya keep an eye on him. Since this is his first taste of blood other traits will follow.”

Then maybe I should stay. I don’t want to be a meal.”

Ina had a thought. “Listen, take Leo with you. He will help Jan when the time comes.”

“Who will help me from them when the time comes?”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Abella stirred as she slept. Normally the dead don’t dream but those who are pure breed vampire can.

In her dream her sister was there with Makalo. They looked so in love and Abella felt the pangs of jealousy rise within her. She her sister say,” We must be mated soon before my father finds out I am with child.”

“Don’t worry I will have my father come tomorrow to aske for your hand.” He said before he leaned in to kiss her. Then the dream flashed to blood dripping down the steak that she used to kill her sister. She dragged the body towards the window to make sure that she and the baby would burn.

Makalo appeared at the bedroom door as he witnessed his love and child burn. He could not kill Abella because law states once a mating has been proposed between two nests, it will be fulfilled. The night rose and so did Abella.

“Makalo I will kill your abomination and after we will have a child of our own.” She whispered to her self. At least she thought it was to her self.

Blood Cookie {The call of the Dhampir(9)}

images

For twenty one years and nine months his heart beat in a steady uninterrupted pace showing evidence that the abomination is alive. Yet the two women who were chosen to raise him did not do what was required of them. They never told a soul. Now the task was given to Ina. A being who’s life’s purpose is to observe and never intentionally interfere with another’s path in life.

“Ina what is the deal? You do not need my help serving the swamp people. Besides their slimy.”

“Creya he was not told of his quest. He honestly does not know what is to become of him.”

Creya heart sped a bit from the information. “What are we going to do?”

“I am not supposed to interfere.”

“Shit.” Creya said.

“If you don’t my suggestion.” Mojuno, one of the swamp pixie said.

“What do you suggest?” Ina asked as she listened closely.

“The truth can be told in the blood.”

Creya stood there with her eyebrows raised. “So are you volunteering?”

The pixie walked off eating a piece of the bread that Ina just brought out.

“She’s right but it can not be mine. I know to much I can not sift out the information.”

“Well I’m in the same boat. I know allot as well.”

“No you are perfect. You’ve lived only one life cycle. sifting out the information that is not needed would be easy.”

“Easy for you.” Creya said as her face shown how the whole idea of giving her blood disturbed her.

“Enough. You will do this. We will have it by morning. Now go back to the kitchen and get him to go to bed.”

“I protest this whole heartedly. My blood is precious to me.”

“Everyone feels the same but this is the part you are given, in his path.”

“Shit.”

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

A cup and a half of self rising flour, a spoon of sugar, a drizzle of almond extract, a quarter size dab of butter and mix. The base was done and baking in the oven. The look of the wicked knife going towards Creya unmarred arm had her pulse racing.

At first nothing then the burn came as her precious blood fell into the mixing bowl. Once there was enough Ina spat on the wound sealing it immediately.

“That was gross.”

“Shhh.” Ina said as she whispered words that have not been heard for a millennia. The blood bubbled and burst. Giving off puff of smoke. Once the blood was at the perfect consistency she scooped out a tablespoon size amounts and placed it in the center of the cookie.

“So what is that?”

“Blood Cookie’s. It holds one tale in each. The same tale mind you. Jan will have to eat one of them and he will finally know what has been hidden from him.”

They both looked at the creation not knowing what the morning for Adorjan will be.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The sun rose quickly, but Adorjan did not. Creya walked into his room with a tray of coffee and cookies. She placed it on the bed stand next to him.

“Jan wake up. I don’t have water with me this time to splash on you.”

He smiled at the memory of last night.

“Why are you always near me when I am sleeping?”

“Oh, just get up and have some coffee.” She said as she walked towards the window and looked out at the people passing by.

Adorjan drank the coffee but was not ready to eat cookies. He really did not like sweets. Creya turned noticing that he did not take one.

“You need to eat at least one cookie, so I wont have to lie to Ina about you liking them.”

He picked it up and looked it over. “Is this raspberry filling?”

She hated lying in general. “Just eat it. Jan do you question everything?”

He smiled at her and ate it whole. The cookie was sweet but it was not raspberry. He drank the coffee to wash the taste down.

“That was not…not” The room began to spin.

“Sorry, Jan but you had to know. Just rest now. You’ll wake soon enough.” Creya rest head on the pillow then took the cookies and coffee away.

The sun couldn’t have risen fast enough for Mimi. Abella had went to her chambers to bed for the day.

Mimi managed to get to Paul, the errand boy. He was about to leave to get supplies for the kitchen staff.

“Paul go to Michael and tell him the sun is covering the moon.”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“Just do as I say.”

“Alright Mimi. But you can be so odd some times.”

Mimi ran back into the house making sure that no beast noticed what transpired. She knew that  a spy can come in all forms. All forms of creature can be enlisted as one.

“Mimi where have you been? I had not seen you in ages.”

“I have been around.”

“I see.”

“Do you, Cleo?” Mimi said as she walked past.

“So your interested in Paul?”

“No, he’s a bit to young. You know what I like.” Mimi said as her hand caressed her cheek.

“You have not been interested in a while.”

“Oh I’ve been interested. Just too much cake make you sick but cake in appropriate moderation increases the delight. Mimi leaned in and captured her lips making sure to nip her. She loved the taste of blood.

So my lovely fire starters. Adorjan will finally learn what was kept from him and Mimi was almost caught. How are you liking it so far? Please Like and tell me if your enjoying this series. Until next we meet Fia xoxo

The call of the Dhampir chpt 8

The smell of blood swirled around the dead as if it was like freshly baked cake. The mansion was buzzing about the smell. No one could pin point where the smell was coming from. Which was a miraculous feet since they had a high sence of smell.

The prince had left that morning and there was no one to keep Abella in check. Abella walked down the stairs dressed in lace and satin dress. The color seemed to be a green but the amount of blood that was soaked on the dress it was almost impossible to distinguis the true color.

“Listen to me all of you. I know that the prince has his spies watching me. I have personally dispatched a couple that I know of. If I find out who else is giving him information about my coming and goings I will gladly add your blood to this dress. Have I made myself clear?”

Not a peep was heard. The others stood watching her with bared fangs and anger in their eyes. In the shadows Mimi hid. She will get a message out to him once the sun rose. Until then she’ll keep to the shadows.

___________________________________________________________________________________________

“Wakey, wakey” Adorjan heard before a cold splash of sea water drench him. He sat up with a start.

The girl that was up in the tree was standing before him laughing.

“Was that really that funny? How did you get here?”

“Oh you hit me with two questions at once. Let’s see. It was hilarious, you look like a wet cat. Second question, I came over with my father. Now answer my questions. Why are you sleeping here on the boat and are you hungry?”

Adorjan got up and shook off the water that was still dripping from him before he answered her.

“I am waiting for the twins to come back and I fell asleep. I am a bit hungry. Why do you have some food you could give me?”

She smiled and climed down from the boat and started walking towards the houses. “Are you coming or not?”

Adorjan smiled and climbed down from the boat, then followed her. He did not realize how close in hieght she was to him, since the last time he seen her she was laying down in a tree. They walked for about five minutes before they stopped in front of a house.

“Before we go in I think it would be wise that we should know each other’s names. I’m Creya and you are?”

“Adorjan”

“Adorjan is nice, but since I am welcoming you inside I think I will call you Jan.”

She seem very determined that she had to give him a name as if she was christening a ship. He kept his laughter inside until later. He gave her a nod that he accepted the shortened name.

“Okay let’s go in.”

The house was brimming with people of all shapes and sizes. Not to mention color. A woman no taller than Adorjan’s knee passed in front of him and he could swear he smelled a hint of stale water.

“That is Oria. She is a swamp pixie.”

“Oh” He looked around the room and basically everyone looked normal to the naked eye.

“Come with me. Your probably really hungry. We have food in the kitchen.”

“What’s going on? Why is there so many people here tonight?”

Creya laughed at his comment and he could not understand what was so comical.

They walked into the kitchen and a woman with red curly hair down her back was covered in flour.

“Ah, Creya you finally brought the Dhampir. Come in, come in and eat.”

Adorjan felt slightly trapped with the two women in the kitchen.

“Sit and eat. Or is this not what you favor? Do you take after your father then?”

“Okay what is this about? I do not like feeling like I am a mouse in a maze.”

“Ah yes, you are quite the mouse. Oh my excuse me a moment, the bread will burn if I do not get it out of the oven.”

The red headed woman turned and took something that resembles bread out of the oven, but it was pulsating.

“Perfect. The marsh folk do not like their bread to be over done. Now let me introduce my self. I am Inakoraikatoo. You can call me Ina. I am what you call a neutral observer of all the species of this world. I take no sides and I answer questions that I deem is none intrusive on the path you are set upon.”

“An observer?”

“Sit, you are safe here. No violence is allowed in my presence ever. Would you like to see what happens if you try?” Ina handed a wicked looking blade she was using as a cutting knife.

Adorjan looked her square in the eyes and seen something roaming behind them. He refused the blade and turned to Creya.

“So what are you?”

Creya hoped on the kitchen sink and bit into a celery stalk. “that is answer that will be given, when it is necessary. Now sit and relax, Jan.”

He did as she asked since for some reason she seemed trust worthy. “Why did you bring me here?”

“To the point then. I have been watching you since your grandmother died. The vail she had over you and your mother had vanished when she passed. I was shown that you need a companion on your quest.”

“I have no quest and I do not need a companion.”

“Listen, Jan is it? Creya will accompany you on your path. Enough said.”

“I don’t know where I am going. So Creya accompanying me to nowhere is really ridiculous.”

“You do not know your path? How is that possible?”

The red headed woman looked genuinely confused.” Alright enough talking and more eating. Then tonight you will sleep in one of the rooms. Your safe here.”

“You keep saying that?”

“Well, Jan if you would wipe the suspicious look off your face then she wouldn’t have to keep repeating it.”

“Creya help me bring the bread out.” Creya knew the woman can lift a truck if she wanted with no help. Something was up.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

The beating of the bats wings gave no comfort to Makalo. Time was running out and Adorjan had to start piecing things together before his lack of knowledge kills him.

Makalo went towards to the east to see Sheri. One of the longest living vampire in the world. Makalo walked toward Sheri’s chamber to be greeted by Kara. The of the few weaknesses he allowed in his life.

“Kara what are you doing here?”

“Makalo do you not miss me?” As he watched the woman before him drop her shear gown revealing a body he came to know all to well. He still questioned her presence in Sheri’s chambers.

He deferred the question until a later time. His body burned from the memory of her body beneath him and her blood coursing through him.

“It can wait Kara.” He said as the door closed behind him.

So my fire starters Makalo has a side chick and what’s the deal with Ina? Why did she ask Creya to help her with the bread? And before I forget Abella’s claws are out, rather her teeth and death is in the air. Hmmm what will happen next? Comments and Likes are appreciated. Until next we meet. Fia xoxox

The call of the Dhampir chpt6

sea

The sun was shining but the rays were being its deceptive cohort. There was a chill on the sea as the men road the waves to the city.

“So Adorjan you have never been to the city and I feel it is my duty to give you some insightful tips on how to stay afloat.”

“Oh shut up Brinx. He is a grown man, he can handle himself.”

“Bijou you must help him learn the financial part as I teach him about the in’s and out’s. I will start.” Brinx said as he sat next to Adorjan.

“Once you hist dry land you will feel a wave come over you. Not a normal wave but a wave of greed, lust and any sin that comes to mind. The city is the playing ground for the ambitious businessmen. These people will know of your lack of experience. It’s like radar and they will try to exploit you. So you must school that innocent look on your face.”

Adorjan touched his face and he felt the shadow of a beard but he did not feel innocent.

“Your eye’s. Your eye’s show your innocents. You should try to scowl as much as you can and your size will help clear the path of miscreants.” Brinx said as he looked seriously into his eyes

“Since my brother insists that  I teach you to finance, I will give you advice that will help. Never tell anyone how much you have on your person. There are ears everywhere and those ears have empty pockets and a drive to fill them. There are dark alleys that I advise for you to stay out of. Ladies of the night tend to do business in those alleys. If you chose to venture there keep in mind that many of them are unclean and carry illnesses that are incurable.”

Adorjan looked at bijou with wonder on his face. His yaya told him many things but she had left out illnesses that can not be cured.

“Yes so you should keep that little man in your trousers. You get my drift?”

Adorjan nodded.

“If your looking for work go the factories. There should be something there you can do until you increase your personal income.”

The twins looked at each other and mirrored each other’s smile.

“Adorjan you never did tell us why you are venturing out into to the city,” Bijou asked as he stirred the boat.

Adorjan thought about telling these two men the truth but it seemed that they would not understand.

“I am searching for a cousin. Last I was told she lived in the city and I must come to visit her.”

That was the best he could do. He was actually going to see his yaya’s sister. He was told by his yaya that she was still living due to a deal she made long ago. She never told him who she made the deal with.

“Well then we will reach land in an hour and the wind has changed. So gents get to it or we will go off course.” Bejou said as he turned the wheel vigorously.

The City of Mali

The city was everything the twins had said it would be. After they said their good bye’s. Adorjarn walked into the palatable wave in search for Amorisa. His grand aunt. he pulled out a crushed paper from his trousers and looked at the address one more time.

He walked half the day before he came upon a house made of red brick but was covered with vines and soot. The house had a cast iron gate and a cobblestone pathway up to the front door.

Adorjan opened the gate and there was no sound. Normally all gates made a sound even wooden ones. He shrugged it off as it is well maintained. Odd since the rest of the front wasn’t. He walked up to the door and it opened with a young child standing before him.

“Come in Adorjan. She has waited a long time to meet you.” The child said. but on closer inspection, it was not a child at all. What was she?

Adorjan followed her in and noticed the air felt a bit stifling.

“Please sit. She will be right out.”

He did as she said as his eyes took in and categorized what he was seeing.

“Adorjan, you finally made it.”

“A voice that he had not heard in ten years said behind him.” He stood and his heart hurt from stopping.

“I know I look like my sister Celestie. I am her older sister. Have a seat before you fall Adorjan.”

He did as she requested and began to breathe again as his lungs demanded.

“So before I tell you what my sister could not, why don’t we have a drink. What would you like?”

“Water would be fine.”

She looked at him with her head cocked to the side.”Fine I will have wine.”

The glasses appeared with the liquid. Amorisa raised her glass for a toast. So Adorjan did the same. The clink of the glass echoed through the house. After Amorise took a sip she sat in a resting chair before him.

“Let’s get to it shall we. Your father is………”

Adorjan interrupted her before she could say it. “He is a vampire. I know.”

“Well, that is good. He is the prince of vampires. His name is Makalo. He sired you with your mother.”

“He is a prince?”

“Let me tell it without interruption.” She took another sip.

“Your father fell in love with Nikila. But he was betrothed to her sister Abella. A terrible accident happened and Nukila had died. Makalo married Abello as arranged but he hated her with all his being. He locked himself away for years looking up ancient texts to see how his life would have some meaning to it.

Then he found that he could sire children without biting their mothers. The only thing is that the woman had to have the carrier gene. He left the tomb and went to Abella. He mated with her for a month yet no child was conceived.

He went out and found a female pureblood vampire sadduced her and she got with child. Once Abella heard she killed the woman once the child was born and raised it as her own.

Again Makalo went out of the marriage and found my niece. She was so beautiful yet so sad that he granted her a wish of one night with him. He did not know she would be a carrier. Once she found out she was with child she ran to my sister and raised you there in the woods.

To protect you I visited once as my sister asked and we cast a powerful spell to hide the three of you until you were a man. Once you became of age the spell broke and Abella felt your presence. She will be out to kill you.”

This was allotted to take in.”Wait you said a spell. What are you?”

“We are the last line of Szoba gypsy’s.”

“Gypsy?”

“Yes this is a lot to take in, but I have to tell you the rest. You are a Dhampir and you are going to go through the culling. Once you go through this you will be the first to create a species of the two. Abella believes your an abomination but your father knows otherwise.”

“The culling?”

“You are going to be lead to your mate. Once the union is consumated the world as we know it will forever be changed.”

“I do not want to be a creator. I did not ask for this.”

“We are all not asked if we want to live or die. It is chosen. Enough talking as you stay in my home you are protected. No one will know where you are.”

“I have a half-sister.”

“Yes, she has been kept away from others. Abella did not want her to learn of her true mother.”

“She sounds horrible.”

“I guess. When a woman or man loves another so deeply and can never receive that love in return it can turn a person mad.” She sipped her wine again.” Your room is upstairs to the right. Rest and we shall talk again after you process what I have told you.”

Adorjan did as she said and went to get some rest. Yet something his yaya told him.

“Stay, but do not stay longer than the night.”

“Why could he not stay at night?

So fire starters what is the deal with the night? What deal did she make? Oh man he’s half gypsy. The story continues. If you like please star it and comment all is welcome.

Not every night has clear skies and a bright moon. No, not every night, especially not tonight.

Adorjan had waken to complete darkness. The wooded creatures were very vocal and their was not odd feeling that something was a miss as he slept. He decided that he should make his way to the shore that night. It was just a few hours away and he knew he had to cross the water’s to get to his destination.

The little water town of Atal was celebrating the big catch the ships had brought in. There was music and dancing where ever you turned. Adorjan made his way to one of the boats that was docked and noticed a young man tieing the boat to a large tree pole.

“Excuse me, can you tell me if I can purchase a ride across the sea.”

The young man laughed and did not bother to turn around. “Why go across the sea? Tonight is the night to be frivolous and be at ease.”

“I can see that and I am willing to wait until the morning.”

The young man turned around and he held a smile on his face that could convince any young woman of innocence as he proceed to convince them to do anything but innocent things.

“I have not seen you in Atal before. Are you visiting family or did you make a mistake and listen to those old drunkards and they convinced you to come and make your fortune on the sea?”

Adorjan could not help but smile at the young man asking him questions.

“Since you seem so interested. I lived off the town of Newer Town and I have decided to make a life for myself across the sea. Now can you direct me to the captain of the boat so I can purchase a ride?”

“I tell you what. Tonight there is no moon in the sky and no self-respecting sailor will go out on such a night. Since you say you will wait until morning you might as well wait with me.”

“But you still have not given me the name of the captain of the boat.”

“I did not. My name is Binx Jewel and this is my boat. You may come across another young man who looks similar to me his name is Bijoux. He is my younger brother by just a hair or two. As for the fee, I will mull it over as the night goes on. What say you?”

Adojan was not eager to mingle with people. His fear of being found out was bothering him greatly but he had to learn to fit in if he was going across to sea.

“That sounds good.”

“I fail to get your name?”

“So sorry, My name is Adorjan Szabo.”

“Alright , now lets eat, drink and see what the night unfolds.”

Brinx slapped Adorjan on the back and lead him into the town.

=========================================================================

The night had stretched into the morning. One by one the people of the town Atal went into their homes for the rest of the night.

Brinx went off with a red-headed young woman over hour ago and Adorjan decided to sit under an old tree, a little away from everyone and get some rest.

“Is there something wrong with you?”

Adorjan stood up quickly to see were the voice was coming from.

“Come out, do not hide.” He said out loud.

“Who said I am hiding? You just have not seen me as yet. Look up into the tree you were about to sleep under.”

There was a young woman laying on a branch. Her face was hidden by the darkness.

“Why are you up in the tree? Why are you not at home for the night?”

“The world is my home and this branch as long as it holds is my bed. What is your reason ,why are you not in for the night? Is there something wrong with you?”

“No there is not. Why do you ask?”

“Every young man has found a young woman to bed for the night. Yet you sleep alone under the stars.”

“Well since your up in the tree were I am about to sleep under. Who said I am alone.?”

“Quick wit.” She said as it sounded as if she was smiling, since he could not see her face.

“I’m Adorjan and your name is?”

“Creya. Well goodnight bed fellow.”

“Goodnight Creya.”

The dawn came quick but not quick enough for Adorjan he was ready to cross the sea. He heard when the young woman climbed down and ran off towards one of the homes. He pretended to be asleep since she did not want to be seen.

He walked up to the boat Brinx had tied up and seen him walking around it looking at all the ropes that tied the long sheet to the pole.

“Good morning Brinx. I see that the red-head did not keep longer than the night.

Brinx looked at him as if he had two heads.

“So you met Brinx?”

“My apologies. You must be Bijoux. I had purchased a ride across the sea from your brother.”

“I see and how much did he charge?”

“He did not name the price as yet. Can you tell me how much it would be?”

“Ten pence.”

“Ten seems a bit steep, but here you are.”

Out of nowhere a voice said,” Keep your money. We are going to the city anyway. Just help when we need it and that will pay for your trip.”

Brinx climbed aboard and walked pass his brother.

“Brinx, that is why we make next to nothing. We need to charge.”

“Bijou he has next to nothing to his name.If we do good then good things will come back to us.,”

Adorjan could not tell them apart visually but their personalities shown their true colors. Either way he had his ride and his quest was on its way.

In the shadow of the tree he slept under, the young woman who slept on the branch kept watch. She was to report to the prince of his son’s were abuts. She was not a vampire or slave.

She did what she was asked because a promise she had given to the prince a very long time ago and she always keeps a promise.

==========================================================================

Makalo received word that Adorjan had booked passage to the city. He could not help him or the rest of the vampire nests will see it as a weakness. But he will keep track of his progress.

He had to be the chosen. He had to live.

So my fire starters Adorjan is on the move across the sea. What is he chosen to be? Isn’t he an abomination? If you like it so far hit like and tell a friend. It’s a great compliment.

The call of the Dhampir

Chapter One

Not so long ago, my kind was feared by not only humans but the very creatures that we steam from. Vampire or the living immortals. Normally you would hear that we hide in the shadows and kill indiscriminately.

That is not who we are. We are the off spring of the blessed mortals that walk in the sun and the damned beast that roam the night. We are in that grey area that no one dare speak of. We kill when their is a need for it. Lately the need had somewhat diminished.

Our appetites are as complex as our make up. Yes we can drink blood to survive but is it necessary no. We eat and digest food just as our mortal half requires.

Before I go into why I am writing all of this. I must tell you that I fear that my life will end before I will end this account of our existence.

I will start with my name. I am called Adorjan Szabo. My mother was the daughter of the Hungarian tailor to the Czar. My father was a high immortal vampire that fell in love with the pure innocents of a young woman.

My mother stood all of 1.49 meters tall (59in). I remember she had thick brown hair, heighted by the sun, leaving a golden hue. That was not the most remarkable thing about her. What drew you in was her eye. You read correct. Her eye drew you to her. She was born with only one eye, framed with lush lashes that naturally emphasized the deep green of her iris.

My sire which I prefer to call him was tall framed. Strong looking jaw that housed lips that was so full and supple that it made you wonder if he was meant to be female. His hair was dark like on a full moon and if I remembered correctly he smelled of sweet honey suckle.

I was created on the night of Maborn, to those who do not know that would be September. I was told that it was a mutual mating and the thought of love did cross their minds once or twice, but it was fleeting. My sire took what he wanted and granted a wish that she bargain for, but before the bargain was consummated he fed from her.

Even though she was a beauty, having that one eye had put off many suitors and she felt alone. She told me when I was of age that she asked my sire to take her innocents, so she would feel what other women felt even if it was once in her life time.

He agreed to the bargain but he did not realize that she was a carrier. She was of the ancient line of mortal female that was able to carry an offspring of a vampire to term and create a Dhampir.

When my mother realized she was with child she ran off into the woods toward my grand yaya’s home. Yaya loved and cared for my mother until the day of my birth. That was the day things changed. Yaya realized I was the offspring of the undying. She wanted to spare my mother heart ache and kill me at birth but my mother pleaded for my life.

“Angyal, you will not have an easy life with the gyermek (child). He will never be part of either of our worlds why do this?” Yaya asked

My mother looked at me and said that she will have someone to love for ever. the forever lasted until her ninetieth birthday. I buried her next to Yaya in the woods on the day of my birth. As I said my good bye’s , that is when I seen it.

An image of a place that I must go. My yaya told me that some immortals have the gift of seeing images. Some may be present or the future. I believe it was a place I must travel to in the present. I packed what little I had and left my home in the woods.

Little did I know that my very existence was being observed. In the shadows I was being followed. At the time I did not notice but the time was drawing near to the “culling”. A change that all Dhampir’s go through when they reach the age of maturity.

The tracker was set upon me by Abella a name that you will get familiar to as my story unfolds. I walked through the woods avoiding the small towns as best as I could. I had learned to hide my teeth but there were times that they would hurt when a young woman would approach.

The sweet smell that came off them seemed to be amplified. My yaya told me about the acts between a  men and a women and even though I was not allowed to be near them it was not without effort to quench my desires.

One night I could hear my mother and my grandmother contemplating on paying one of the young maidens to bed me in hopes that would help. But I did not want that, so I told them very sternly that I did not want a… whore. They both turned flushed that I over heard what they had planned but conceded not go through with it.

that was over eight years ago and I do not regret my decision. What if I hurt a mortal being engulfed in lust or what if I get killed being discover by an immortal female? I will wait until I find my own kind. If any other’s were out there.

Hello my firestarters so I am starting a new story on, Dhampir’s. I hope you enjoy where this tale may lead you. Comments and likes are welcomed. Until next excerpt.
