Darlene
I looked at Sammy and Noel trying to figure out what was so amusing. I decided to let it go since I was still feeling conflicted with what happened with Penny and L.
Sammy looked at my face and saw that I was forcing the smile instead of it being genuine.
“Hey, you alright?”
“Yea”
Noel was about to say something, but Sammy cut him off.
“You know sometimes there are people that come in your life for a reason and when the reason is resolved then those people are no longer a priority,” she said and handed me a cup of coffee that I liked.
I looked at her mouthed, ‘thank you’ and took a sip of my coffee. She knew and I was glad I did not have to say it out loud.
Noel just looked at us and a sudden understanding of what transpired had him smile.
“Do you need help with anything?” I asked feeling a bit better.
“I do but it’s in the back. Some things need to be sorted out in the stock room.” Noel said glaring at me as if I was stick of candy.
“I bet there is.” Sammy mumbled and walked to a table were three women sat eyeing Noel.
I walked to the back and heard Noel tell Sammy that he will back in a few. Once inside I felt when he stood behind me.
“Darlene did I tell you how I feel about the way you look in tight skirts.”
The tone he used was very husky with a promise for more.
“No, you haven’t.”
His warm breath fanned the fine hairs on my neck sending a delicious tremor through me.
“You said something needed to be put in order.”
He edged even closer, and I felt what was needed.
“I can take you now, but I won’t.” He said.
“Why?”
He stepped back and I swayed on unsteady feet.
“You want me too and I want you to ache for it.”
Eliza
I have put the word out that we are close to being invited fully in the lighter’s city.
Peter was still upset about the way Noel behaved but it only intrigued me more. Noel has a weakness and after all these years I doubt it has changed much.
Whenever I shooed him away, he would go to a girl that had brown hair and a contradictory disposition. Something that showed people one side of them and in the dark was another.
He did not want me, so I figure he has someone he has latched on to.
“Peter, we have to find the girl Noel is screwing.”
Peter looked up in his blood lust as he is being clawed by twins,
“What?”
“He is with someone and if we get her. He will not stand in our way.”
“Is that it or are you up set that he refused to put the leash you had on him back on.”
Sometimes I wanted to end Peter, but he is just as old as me and the fight would go on for far too long.
“I need for the plan to enslave the lighter’s to go as planned. The other’s will be here soon, and I have to make this happen.”
Peter pushed his two skilled lovers away and sat up.
“You need to call them here now. They will take him out of the equation, and we can enjoy the spoils.”
I went to the couch across from him and held my glass.
“When they come, they all will be culled like cattle. Noel will be be-imprisoned in a hole till he dies. No, I am cruel, but I rather just rip his head off his body and drink from his beating heart.”
Peter smiled showing his fangs. “Well let’s go find the toy and take it away from him.”
Noel
I am so proud of my restraint around her. My body wanted to be possessed what it considers it owns but I want to wait.
I want her crazed with lust and want. We kissed and touched like teenagers that were not allowed to take things further. She was primed and needing but I need her to wait. So I sent her home in that state.
I went back to work and my mind went to Eliza and Peter. They are not going to take my threat easily.
I am not the same person they left behind years ago. I have killed numerous nighter’s and lighter’s since they left. The difference is I keep what I do off the radar. The people that need to know, know. I remember the first kill. The rush and the want.
I wanted to do it again. The feeling of life disappearing under my hands. The nighter’s fought back and it drove another kind of beast out of me. That part was loose for a long while.
Then I came upon this place. It was a crappy place. Ready to be torn down or burned down which every was quicker. I walked in and there she was Sammy.
She was young, dirty and feisty. She was put out of her coven because she was a wild witch. There was no place where she belonged. A wild witch is feared by all covens. Can not be controlled or contained. That alone made her an outcast.
She knew what I was, which was a no brainer. We were no longer in hiding. Yet she was not scared of me.
That night we talked. We talked about things we never told a soul and would till this day take to the grave. So, when she tells me the word is out that they are spreading information of being invited into the city. I believe her.
“Hey, boss what’s going on in that head of yours? If you tell me something about Darkling, I am going home.” Sammy said with a smile.
“There is going to be a battle, Sammy. I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
she chuckled. “That is a funny thing to want. The best you can do is to steel yourself from the pain when people get hurt.”
She knew I meant her and especially Darlene. I will have to get her to go somewhere to be safe.
“I have to go. Are you alright?” She asked in her normal way.
“Prepare Sammy.” I looked at her and she nodded.
(Are you with me out there? Things are moving and building. Let me know how you like it.)
